KADK / 3rd semester / 2018

I wanted to create a structure that could give a sense of nature back to the area and for the structure to, over time, merge with nature - the weathering of the building materials and traces of general use would become decorative elements on the facade.

The main core of the building, the long staircase, should invite you to walk up the steps and out onto the terraces in either end of the building, functioning as urban gardens and gathering places.

By putting all of the apartment units on the sides, the unit itself became elongated. I wanted each unit to be able to be completely customizable by its inhabitants and with the large windows and conservatory, it should be very inviting to keep large plants and other greenery in the unit.

The artist living in this unit, would be free to place their workspace anywhere in the unit. I have given an example of how an interior situation could look.
